This season, the fabulous feet of the fashion-pack will be strutting the catwalk in nothing less than the desert boot. Spotted on the feet of celebrities such as Florence Welsh and Robert Pattison, the Clarks Desert boot, one of the primary suppliers of the style, has become a fashion staple for both men and women, gaining some major style points and inspiring many labels to create their own version.
Santa Monica based footwear brand Toms have always been quick to adapt a trend and they have stamped their own unique styling on the desert boot. Their pleated toe black suede pair offers the wearer a few twists on the classic design, and a comfortable wedge heel measuring 2.5 inches ensures both comfort and style. Box clothing stocks both men’s and women’s Toms desert boots and a style winner in the men’s category are the gorgeous Suede Chestnut Brown pair. They just look so warm!
Another women’s fashion brand giving the desert boot a whirl are high-street favourites Topshop, who have released a delightful range in a medley of colours and prints, all at a very reasonable prices. My personal favourites are the Mania Shearling Desert boot. Topman is also stocking some great options from both their in-house design team and guest brands.
No shoe run down would be complete however without looking at what Office have to offer. Sticking with the 90s trend, these Brown Suede Camo boots by Ask the Missus would look amazing on the feet of both genders, so ladies, get buying quick before the smaller sizes run out.
When styling desert boots, you would be amazed at just how versatile they are. They look great with distressed jeans, dresses, skirts and chinos. However, my dream outfit for this season would be indigo ankle-length jeans with bright socks, black suede desert boots, fairisle knit and casual waxed coat – something like this Le Breve Viola Black Jacket for a perfect off-duty look.
