As we all know, wedding expenses can add up very quickly! There are plenty of expenditures in the months leading up to the wedding — caterers, reception venues, photographers, florists and more! But the “day of” also brings a lot of costs with it, whether you’re the bride or just part of the bridal party. Here are a few tips on how you can save money on wedding day beauty prep for all the girls taking part in your big day:
Try a makeup counter. Some of the best makeup applications I’ve seen come from a beauty counter at a department store. If you have a makeup brand you like, call around and see if there’s anyone willing to do a few ladies’ makeup the morning of your wedding, either at the store or in your own house or hotel. The added benefit of this is that you may be able to negotiate a “charge” of a makeup purchase, which means that even if your bridesmaids are paying a bit out of pocket, they’re at least getting a product they might really like out of the experience.
Bring your own makeup. If you know someone who is good with makeup but doesn’t really do it professionally, she may be able to help you out by using her talents with your bridesmaids’ own makeup. She won’t need to use any of her own products and therefore will probably charge you quite a bit less. Just make sure that you do a trial run first to make sure you like what you’re seeing!
Do it yourself! Depending on how involved you want your makeup to be, this may not be the most desirable option, however, many brides are going for a natural look and you may be the perfect person to do your own makeup. While it may sound ridiculous, rumor has it that Duchess Catherine did her own wedding makeup link and she looked incredible!
