Working out doesn’t have to mean baggy sweats and an old t-shirt. Fitness is all about making yourself feel good through exercise and endorphins, so wouldn’t it make sense to make sure you look great too?
This is especially true with dance, as you evoke emotion through song and portray a story with your movements. If you are not feeling at your best, this could impede your performance.
When it comes to dance clothing, there is so much choice to be had with what to wear depending on your discipline. If you enjoy Zumba or street dance, then you can go for some very colourful and trendy options from top brands such as Pineapple. Dancemania offer a great selection of dance fashion, from bra tops to dance shoes, so you can feel ready to get your sweat on in style.
Even gentler exercises such as yoga can benefit from a style injection, especially when you are putting your body into some unusual positions. Downward dog will be no fun for on-lookers if you are wearing age-old clothing that is badly fitting and makes you feel drab. Although a little pricey, this yoga vest will keep you supported and looking streamlined, as you improve your flexibility and achieve that peaceful calm.
If you do not have the body confidence to pull off a bra top and shorts for your fitness endeavours, there are also layered tops, and vest tops that will look great with longer pants that cover a little more skin.
Always remember that comfort is key, no matter whether you’re attempting a pirouette or reaching the next mile on the treadmill. Fashion should follow on from your initial happiness with fit and comfort.
Even just heading to the gym can be done in clothing that you feel accentuates all your best bits, while keeping you cool and comfortable enough to push yourself that little bit further. Being self-conscious in a gym is no one’s idea of fun, so be sure that the clothing you choose makes you feel a million dollars.

Ouch ouch and ouch, haha!
I wish I can mix fashion and fitness – for some reason, I hate what I wear whenever I go for a workout, lol!

I’ve never really paid particular attention to what I wear when exercising. I just usually grab any shirt and a pair of shorts or leggings. But you’re right, fitness and fashion should go hand in hand.
