Want to know what trendy university students are taking with them on their holidays? Read on to know more straight from a chic gal on vacation.
I can’t wait to go on my summer holiday! It’s only a month and a half away now so you can be sure that I’m crossing off each day on my calendar when I go to bed at night. Me and my favourite gals are heading to the island of Majorca to visit Magaluf for the very first time. I’ve just finished sixth form and want to have a great time before starting university in Hull in the autumn, so that’s exactly what we’re going to do.
I’ve had an absolute blast doing my holiday shopping and have been testing all sorts of fake tans and fake eyelashes for our mega nights out. But I have been an absolute slave to shops that sell beautiful bags, and I admit, I’ve bought a fair few. My mum figured I would return a couple of them, but she remembers that she was my age once so actually chipped in towards the cost in the end (thanks!) but only on the premise that I wouldn’t buy any more for a good few months. I’ll agree with that, although I will probably need one that can actually carry my books for uni… Anyway, here are the different bags I’ll be bringing on my hols!!!
OK so who would really go on holiday without a beach bag? It’d be impossible to carry anything to the beach otherwise and we’re going to have a lot of stuff. Think along the lines of Piz Buin and plenty of gossip mags to pass the time. Obviously we’ll have beach towels too and I’m really hoping to get one from the legendary BCM nightclub as that’ll make me look proper at home on the beach. The bag itself is a ditzy floral pattern and can be purchased from Matalan – it was the cheapest of the lot at £6 so a bit of a bargain really!
Debenhams really impressed me with their collection of shoulder bags so I spent ages looking at their website and walking around their shop. Eventually I chose a Rocha. John Rocha brown snakeskin effect across body satchel bag as it is relatively neutral and also looks more secure due to the buckles (it actually closes with poppers). I thought this would be perfect for boat parties and generally wandering around the resort.
I bought a nude stud trim box clutch from New Look (their website is here), it was £15.99 and really gives a funky edge to my going out dresses. I often like wearing dark dresses so thought the nude colour would be excellent in contrast, especially if I wore it with some similar colour heels. It also has a chain which makes it easier to hold.
Finally, I’ll be doing a couple of excursion so bought a hippy style backpack also from New Look. I had to buy it from the website as it was an online exclusive. It’s called What Kate Did Next and it is the rose print edition in the colour stone. For £49 I’ll be bringing this on board the plane, as well as carrying it around Palma.
